About Mature Services
Mature Services
tries to keep the myriad of circumstances
facing older adults in focus so
that each person has
the opportunity to reach his/her
goals as they age. Our vision has
always been to open doors so each
of us will find our own path to
successful aging. As you read our
annual report, you will see how
we serve each other and ourselves
through programs and services.
About our diverse programs:
The
Senior Employment Center works to train, inspire
and empower mature job seekers whose many talents may otherwise
be lost to the marketplace. An individual living in any of
the 45 counties served need only make a phone call, visit
one of our locations to discover that many employment opportunities
are available. Thanks to the active partnerships maintained
with employers, the number and variety of jobs and training
available is constantly growing. For more on this program,

Mature
Staffing Systems was
developed to place mature workers in temporary, temp- to-hire,
long-term and direct placements.
Many companies also need assistance
in developing stepdown retirement programs to not only retain
their mature workers, but keep their
skills and institutional knowledge
that is critical to maintaining a competitive edge in today’s business environment.
Mature Staffing
Systems is ready to assist them,
as well as answering the need for experienced workers who can act
as mentors to younger employees,
demonstrating the commitment and
strong work ethic that is such an integral part of the older worker ’s
philosophy. For

The D.Bruce Mansfield Center specializes
in outpatient treatment of adults age 50+ who have alcohol or other
drug problems. Older adults are vulnerable to misuse, abuse and
addiction due to increased risk factors such as physical changes,
medication use, and social factors. For more on this program, click here.
Homecare Services provides
support to older adults and adults with disabilities to assist them
in remaining independent in their own homes. Our homecare staff
members visit client’s homes according to a plan initiated
by a nurse or social worker to perform tasks that the individual
is unable to do. For more on this program, click here.
Supportive
Services assists
older adults in identifying benefits
and programs for which they may qualify. Home visits may be
made and assistance provided with
applying for utility programs,
benefits such as food stamps and various other programs. For

The

Center in Akron’s Edgewood community to older adults and adults
with disabilities. Meals are also
delivered to congregate sites at
Hillwood Homes, Lauer, Mayflower
Manor, Residence of Green, Saferstein
Towers, Sutliff and White Pond
Villa. In addition, our emergency
food pantry program is one of only
a few that delivers food to those
in need. For

The
Retired and Senior Volunteer
Program (RSVP) provides volunteers who are “Getting
Things Done” in Summit County.
Created and funded by the Corporation
for National and Community
Service (CNCS) since 1971,
Mature Services’ RSVP project
continues to implement national
initiatives to meet important
community needs. Annual work
plans that encompass the Programming
for Impact model ensure that
community needs are targeted
and that those targets are
being met. For
